Well, here we are.

After what feels like a lifetime of Norah and Lilah stealing hearts, hogging every space they think they can fit in, and somehow convincing me that every single day they DO fit in my lap — The Bernie Bears officially have a home on the internet. 🐻🐻

If you've found your way here, you're probably one of us. A Berner lover. A proud, slightly obsessed parent. Someone who has explained what a Bernese Mountain Dog is approximately four hundred times to people who keep asking if they're a Saint Bernard. (They are not. But we still love you for asking. 🤭)

🐾 So Who are The Bernie Bears?

The Bernie Bears started the way most great things do — with two ridiculously adorable fluffy dogs and a Momma who couldn't stop taking pictures of them.

I'm Momma — a disabled full time Berner momma living in the beautiful Ozark mountain country of SW Missouri, USA with Norah, Lilah, and a lot of bear shenanigans. I started sharing Norah and then Lilah on my personal social media in 2022 — and then with the wider world in 2023. Somewhere along the way, this little corner of the internet became something bigger — a community of Berner and animal lovers who just get it. We have so many friends around the world!

The Bernie Bears is our little corner of the world built for the proud, Berner obsessed parents (like me) and anyone else who adores this magical breed.

🐾 A Note From My Heart

I started this because I just adore my bears. They brought so much joy to me, my immediate and extended family and friends — those who have met them in real life and those in my personal social media world. I shared them every day on my personal social media and saw how much others looked forward to seeing their shenanigans and the daily updates as the bears grew in their first year. It was my personal friends and family who encouraged me to share them with the wider world. I probably should have started that sooner but raising two responsible, respectful and safe bears took all of my time that first year (imagine raising twin newborn humans — that’s what it was like. So much like that (but with more hair and bigger messes — and worth every single second!)

The adorableness in everything that they do is just infectious — or maybe it's my love for them that spills out into the digital world (?). I am convinced that this special breed is my spirit animal. I love sharing them with others in real life and in the digital world because of the joy they bring just by being them.

From real life experience, I believe in the power of hugs. Real, intentional, meaningful hugs. Norah and Lilah give the best bear hugs in the business in their own special way — in real life and virtually, and if this little corner of the internet can spread even a fraction of that warmth and joy to the world, then every single minute of building it was worth it. Because the world needs all of the goodness that it can get.
